Do one little bit a day — bub on your lap, sound on. Tilly leads; you join in. Tick each off and your Day Care levels up.
Pop your fingertips together and say “more” every time bub wants more — more milk, more peek-a-boo, more tickles. Babies can copy this from around 6 months. Play Tilly and do it along with her.
Pick one thing bub loves — the dog, a ball, Dad. Ask “where's the…?”, find it together, then name it and give them a turn. Naming is the doorway to first words.
Songs with actions teach turn-taking and rhythm — the bones of conversation. Trace circles on bub's palm, then “one step, two step… tickle you under there!” Watch them wait for the tickle — that's them predicting the turn.
Beautiful work, you two. Keep doing these every day — and when bub starts pointing and copying, you're ready for the next room.
